Space Tech to the Stars
StardustME provides a space and stars memorial service. Ashes are launched into orbit using Space X rockets to rejoin the stars from once we first came.
The project involves an exciting private-public collaboration. Space engineers at The Space Institute at Auckland University are undertaking the rigorous process required to send a capsule into space.
In a Falcon 9 reusable Space X rocket, a purpose-built capsule containing the ashes is carefully and respectfully placed. All components have been expertly designed by an experienced space engineer and passed rigorous NASA screening. After all the safety checks are complete the rocket is ready for lift-off.
The capsule containing the ashes will orbit the earth for up to 5 years in a state-of-the-art satellite. Eventually, in a breathtaking finale, the capsule will harmlessly reenter the Earth’s atmosphere, blazing as a shooting star.
